*Newly refurbished & new on* 42ft Harborough Marine cruiser style, 4 berth narrowboat 'Barton' has been completely re-fitted inside and repainted outside from the very bottom up and has a very good, newly completed hull survey! (Copies available).
Built in approximately 1979 with a steel hull and GRP cabin top 'Barton' is well built using good quality marine materials and good boat building practices by a very well known boat builder. It has also been very well maintained during its life and is now, with a just finished complete refurbishment, way ahead of the competition in this price bracket.
The entire interior has been stripped bare and completely redone in neutral colours making it feel much larger than its 42ft. Everything from the floor, to the side linings, the furniture, TV, shower, toilet, basin and kitchen & microwave is brand new. The only items which were kept were the fan oven and fridge, the fridge being of the versatile gas/240v/12v type and unavailable any more, and the oven being a very rare 12v fan oven. All the seat/bed cushions are brand new, as are the roof lining and blinds. The bathroom makes clever use of the doors so that the shower and toilet compartments can be either used separately or together to make one large across-boat room. Heating and hot water are via an almost new Morco instant gas water heater and a solid fuel stove. The decking has all been replaced with commercial, very hard wearing, non-slip covering. The exterior has been repainted professionally and the hull completely re-blacked. There is also a new wind generator on the roof and three 110amp and one 240amp batteries along with a Sterling Marine split charger and 750w inverter which means that 'Barton' would make an ideal liveaboard or long term cruiser. BSC to 02/2010.
'Barton' is definitely a boat that you could step onto and cruise away on straight away!
